Terms of use

Thanks for visiting. These terms explain, in plain words, how you can use CancerSideEffectsGuide.com and what you can expect from us. By using the site, you agree to them.

The site is for general education

Everything here is general information to help you and your loved ones understand cancer treatment and talk with your care team. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan, and using the site doesn't create a doctor-patient or any other professional relationship. Always follow the advice of your own doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Never start, stop, or change a medicine because of something you read here. In an emergency, call 911. Please read our full medical disclaimer.

Accuracy and updates

We work hard to keep our pages accurate and current, using FDA drug labels, the National Cancer Institute, and other trusted sources, and each page shows when it was last updated. Still, medicine changes quickly, and we can't promise that every page is complete, error-free, or up to date for your situation. If you spot a mistake, please tell us so we can fix it.

Links to other websites

We link to drug makers, foundations, government agencies, support groups, and videos because we think they may help. We don't control those sites, and a link isn't an endorsement of every product or statement there. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Ads and sponsorships

The site is free because it's paid for by clearly labeled ads and sponsorships, which may include pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Advertisers never write, review, or approve our content. See our advertising and sponsorship policy.

Our content

The text, layout, and graphics we create are owned by Cancer Side Effects Guide. You're welcome to read, print, and share our pages for personal, non-commercial use, for example, to bring a checklist to an appointment or send a page to a family member. Please don't copy our pages onto another website or sell them. Photos are used under their creators' licenses.

Stories and messages you send us

If you share a story or send a message, you confirm that it's true, that it's yours to share, and that it doesn't include anyone else's private information without permission. Stories are reviewed before anything is posted, and we may decline or edit a story for length or clarity. You can ask us to remove your story at any time through our contact form. See our privacy policy for how we handle what you send.

Using the site fairly

Please don't try to break, overload, or scrape the site, send spam through our forms, or use the site for anything unlawful.

Limits of our responsibility

The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for decisions made, or losses suffered, based on information on this site or on sites we link to.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date below shows the latest version. Questions? Contact us.
