What to eat during chemo
There's no single 'chemo diet'. The goal is to get enough calories, protein and fluids while you manage side effects. A dietitian at your cancer center can make a plan for you.
Everyday basics
- Eat small meals every 2–3 hours.
- Include protein: eggs, yogurt, beans, fish, chicken, nut butter, shakes.
- Drink fluids through the day.
- Practice food safety: wash produce, cook meat and eggs fully, especially when blood counts are low.
- Ask your team before taking supplements or herbal products. Some can interfere with treatment.
