Carboplatin + paclitaxel (carbo/taxol): what to expect

Used for: Ovarian cancer, Lung cancer

Cliff notes

Drugs in it: Carboplatin, Paclitaxel (Taxol).

Typical schedule: Often every 3 weeks for about 6 cycles, though weekly schedules are also used. For lung cancer it may be combined with immunotherapy.

What to expect: Hair loss, tingling in hands and feet, low blood counts, tiredness and achy joints are common. You'll get pre-medicines before paclitaxel to lower the risk of allergic reactions.

Your exact schedule and number of cycles are set by your oncologist and may differ from what's described here.
